This weekend we took the kids to the S.F. Exploratorium for Jacob and Trevor's birthday. Afterwards we hit the S.F. Zine Fest. There were many awesome artists! Incredible works! We also saw a few crafters- including Luke and Emily's favorite softie creator- Claire of Absolutely Small. When Luke saw her stand, he almost broke into a sprint! He is so enamored with Claire and her creations! After we picked out 5 new family members, Luke and Emily wanted a picture with Claire (mostly Luke!). She was so sweet- indulging them! As we were walking out, Rocky turned to me and said- "She probably thinks we're stalking her!"
Very Funny! I hope she doesn't think that! Well, that got me thinking- I am so proud of my kid. They understand the concept of "hand made" goods- like with their hand made softies. They understand that someone put time and skill into making them. And even more- they love that they can actually meet the "mother" of their favorite softies- unlike store bought plushes. It's neat and fun to them. Its like meeting the author of their favorite book. And their understanding of that makes me proud. .jpg)
